Other Powers: Trauma Survivors Reclaim Joy
Live Reading & Film Event
Tuesday, March 12 at 7 pm & Wednesday, March 13 at 7 pm

With the Women’s March and start of the national #MeToo movement in 2017, women are increasingly finding their voices as survivors, activists, and advocates. Cornell Professor and Poet Lyrae Van Clief-Stefanon and community partner/filmmaker Sue Perlgut worked with Cornell students and community women to document their participation in workshops exploring trauma, survival, and Joy. Perlgut filmed their creative output and interviewed them to create a multimedia film/reading. A screening of the film/reading by Van Clief-Stefanon and Perlgut will be held on March 12 and March 13 at 7 PM at Cinemapolis. The screenings are sponsored by Carol Bushberg Real Estate.

Tickets are $12 for the general public and $8 for seniors and Student. For more information at CloseToHomeProductions.com

This project is partially supported by grants from: The City Federation of Women’s Organizations, An Engaged Opportunity Grant from the Office of Engagement Initiatives, and with funds from the New York State Council on the Arts, administered by the Community Arts Partnership.
