Tommy Plane Group Hosts Fundraiser

Ithaca Aviation Heritage Foundation presents
A Romance of the Air
Wed, Aug 29 at 7 pm

The Ithaca Aviation Heritage Foundation invites you to join them for a Tommy’s Centennial Flight Fundraiser! They’ll be screening Romance of the Air,” the 1918 silent film set during World World I starring their beloved Tommy plane. Wharton Studios described the film as, “Brave heroes and heroins! Despicable spies! A war hero falsely accused…and sentenced to death! How will it all end?”

Directly following the film, they’ll have a Q&A session with one of the original founders of the Ithaca Aviation Heritage Foundation (IAHF) organization. They’ll talk about the history of the Tommy Comes Home Project, future plans for Tommy, and exciting details about the upcoming Centennial Flight!

All proceeds from the night goes towards the project and Tommy’s Centennial Flight event which is FREE on Saturday, September 29. Don’t miss out on history in the making! Stick around after the Q&A session for a Meet-and-Mingle opportunity in the lobby with IAHF Board and Committee members. Sign up for the Centennial flight today- HERE or directly on their Facebook Event Page.

If you are not able to make it to the movie fundraiser but would like to donate to the Tommy Project, consider visiting their Facebook Page and look for the button labeled “Donate”. For non-Facebook folks, they can also accept monetary donations through the IAHF website HERE, or by mailing your donation to the Ithaca Aviation Heritage Foundation, 200 East Buffalo Street, Ithaca, NY 14850. Your financial support will help with the cost of the Centennial Flight Celebration and the ongoing use of Tommy as an educational tool at Tommy’s permanent home in the new Tompkins Center for History and Culture on the Commons in downtown Ithaca, NY.

This event is co-sponsored by Wharton Studio Museum.
