Cornell’s College of Arts & Sciences will continue its celebration of the life of Toni Morrison with a slate of activities this spring, including a “Toni Morrison at 90” colloquium to honor Morrison’s 90th birthday on February 18 and a February encore presentation of the Oct. 8 reading of “The Bluest Eye,” which included authors Ta-Nehisi Coates, Tayari Jones and Edwidge Danticat, activist Angela Davis, poets Sonia Sanchez and Kevin Young, as well as U.S. Poet Laureate Joy Harjo.
Cinemapolis is proud to partner with the celebration by offering a FREE virtual presentation of Toni Morrison: The Pieces I Am from 2/15 – 2/20. Simply click the “WATCH AT HOME” button, and enter the code “Morrisonat90” when prompted. (The film is also available to view for free for subscribers to Hulu.)
This free virtual screening will be accompanied by a live virtual talkback via Zoom on Saturday, February 20 at 4 pm.
Pre-registration is required for the discussion via ZOOM here.
All of these events are part of the College of Arts & Sciences’ Arts Unplugged series, which brings artistic, scientific and creative works into the public sphere for discussion and inspiration.
